Steve H. Kammerer – 68

Steve H. Kammerer, age 68 of Clinton, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023 at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, Iowa. In following Steve’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Steve was born in Clinton on February 25, 1955, the son of Virtus C. and Darleen (Jensen) Kammerer. He graduated from Clinton High School and the Clinton Academy of Beauty. Steve was employed at Wave Lengths, Clinton for many years. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Charlotte, and later was a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church in Clinton. Steve enjoyed gardening, yardwork, and landscaping, listening to older era music, big bands, and symphonies. Steve would travel to Chicago for theater productions. He liked waterskiing, roller skating, collecting antiques, photography, watching TMC and was an avid Cubs fan.
Steve is survived by 2 brothers, Ricky (Karen) Kammerer of Everett, WA and Terry (Jackie) Kammerer of Camanche; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Kathy Mohr of Peoria, AZ and Tony and Linda Ramsey of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Virtus and Darleen Kammerer, a brother, Kevin, and 2 sisters, Jane and Gail, and his nephew and godson, Jason Golden.
