Shirley Wheelan, 90 of Clinton, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 at her home. According to her wishes, there will be no services. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
Shirley was born in Buell, MO on March 11, 1934, the daughter of William and Elnora (Collins) Angel. She graduated from Montomery City High School and married Dwight Wheelan on December 27, 1952. Shirley was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, crocheting, and scrapbooking. ALL of her grandchildren were the loves of her life.
Shirley is survived by her husband Dwight; her children, James (Chris) Wheelan of Cedar Falls, IA, and Jill (Tim) McDonald of Clinton; grandchildren Brad (Kate) Wheelan, Brett (Cheri) Wheelan, Brooks Wheelan, Amy (Joe) Jacobus, and Erin (Mark) Hogan; nine great grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; sister Ruth Kivett of Danville, IL; sisters-in-law Wanda Angel and Pat Gruber; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Shirley’s memory to MercyOne Hospice, 915 13th Ave N., Clinton, Iowa 52732.
