Shawn “Reb” Van Pelt, 49 of Clinton, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Cremation rites will be accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.

Shawn Lee Van Pelt was born in Clinton, IA on February 15, 1976, the son of Terry and Mary (Miller) Van Pelt. He worked as a machine operator at Clysar. Shawn enjoyed watching movies, attending Rock n Roll concerts, and skateboarding at a younger age, where he got his nickname “Reb” or “Rebel”.

Shawn is survived by his children, Mason and Adrianna Van Pelt, both of Clinton; grandchildren Naviah and Xakye Van Pelt; parents Terry and Mary Van Pelt of Clinton; sister Amber (Johnny) Hill of IL; brother Matthew Van Pelt of Clinton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Donald Van Pelt.
