Sandra L. “Sandy” Kyarsgaard, age 63 of Sabula, Iowa, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023 at Mercy One Hospital in Clinton. In following Sandy’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Sandy was born in Sterling, IL on December 6, 1959, the daughter of James and Patricia (Johnson) Carroll. She attended Sterling Schools. Sandy married Don Clark in 1980 in Savanna, IL. He preceded her in death. She married Duane Kyarsgaard on September 10, 2005 in Sabula. Sandy was a homemaker. She enjoyed entertaining, crafting, being outdoors, decorating, gardening and seed exchange, and being with her dog, Patches. She never worried about herself and was always looking out for others.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Duane; a son Donnie (Cheryl) Clark of Clinton; 2 daughters, Cassondra (Bryan) O’Connell of DeWitt and Jenessa Kyarsgaard of Mason City, IA; 4 grandchildren, Donald, Jessica, Charles, and Caleb; 2 sisters, Mary (David) Zmuda of Clinton and Debra Carroll of Texas; 3 brothers, David (Darla) Carroll and Jeff (Donna) Carroll both of Texas, and James (Linda) Carroll, Jr of Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
