
Samuel Thomas Cruthis, 28, passed away Sunday Feb. 22, 2026 at his home in Swisher, Iowa. The visitation will be held Saturday Feb. 28th from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton, Iowa. A funeral service will be held directly following at 2:00 PM at the Pape Funeral Home.
Samuel was born on February 11, 1998, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Thomas and June (Van Ert) Cruthis. Sam graduated from Clinton High School in 2016 and went on to earn his degree from Kirkwood College in 2018. He worked as a Journeyman HVAC technician at Lins Heating and Air Conditioning in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Sam was known for his hardworking, helpful nature, his natural charisma, and his deep loyalty to those he loved. A lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time. Above all, Sam cherished the company of his friends and family, with a special bond shared with his best friends, Carter and Mike. His love for his partner, Molly, was immeasurable. She was the one who held his heart, and he adored her deeply. Sam’s family was everything to him, and he always made time for them, whether it was to lend a hand or simply to share a laugh. His infectious laugh could be heard from miles away, and his smile had the power to light up any room. He was a kind, respectful, and generous soul. One of the most genuine and thoughtful people you could have ever known.
Sam’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will miss his warmth, laughter, and unwavering support. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a work ethic that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Samuel is survived by his parents, Thomas and June Cruthis of Clinton, IA; Allison Cruthis (Michael) of Highlands Ranch, CO; his twin brother, Alex Cruthis (Cassie) of Maplewood, MN; his girlfriend, Molly Ferguson of Swisher, IA; his grandfather, Gary Korver of Clinton, IA; his grandmother, Marty Raiser of Osceola, IA; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Donna Cruthis, Dorothy Korver, Floyd Van Ert; his uncle, Jeff Van Ert, and a second cousin, Camden Lou.
