Raymond C. Mitchell age 73 of Clinton, passed away Thursday July 21, 2022 at his home. Funeral service held 11:00 AM Thursday July 28th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday 5 – 7 PM at the Pape Funeral Home. Following the service, cremation rites will be accorded and burial will be held at Clinton Lawn Cemetery on Friday, July 29th. Raymond was born on July 16, 1949 in Morrison, IL, the son of Lyle and Anna May (Wiebenga) Mitchell. He graduated from Fulton High School. He was owner/operator of Mitchell Investment Properties in Clinton for many years. He was active with the N.R.A., Clinton Lions Club, going to car shows, liked Harley Davidson, and enjoyed playing Santa during the holidays.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Judy Mitchell of Clinton; four children, Stacy (Don) Gibson of Sabula, IA, Sean (Lynn) Mitchell of Clinton, IA, Corey (Eva) Mitchell of Clinton, IA, and Steve (Teresa) Rettkowski of Clinton, IA; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie, Austin, Logan, Allison, Gage, Skylar, Bryce, Samantha, Megan, Morgan, and Matthew; 10 great grandchildren; four sisters, Donna (LaVerne) Schroeder of Morrison, IL, Roberta Vanderploeg of Fulton, IL, Linda (Richard) VanKampen of Fulton, IL, and Leah Ann (Greg) Duncan of Princeton, IA; his brother, Daniel (Roni) Mitchell of Fulton, IL; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, William, Warren, and Leonard; and his brother-in-law, Larry.
