Phyllis J. Jensen, age 89 of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at the Alverno. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, August 23rd at St. John Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, August 22, 2022 at the Pape Funeral Home and from 9:30 AM until the service time Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren; Michael and Justin Jensen, Derek Hoenig, Jay Dies, Heather Hoenig, Heidi Dies, Jennifer VanDellen, Megan Jensen, Stephanie Donaghy, Shannon Holmes, and Joe, Heather, Taylor, and Christopher Jensen. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren.
Phyllis was born in McCausland, Iowa on July 31, 1933, the daughter of Joseph and Marion (Nielson) Marx, Jr. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1953. Phyllis married Keith Jensen on June 14, 1953 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Clinton. Phyllis was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Loyal Order of Moose. She was a school bus driver for Northeast Community Schools for over 30 years. Phyllis enjoyed crocheting, quilting, cooking, baking, and listening to and dancing to polka music. She was an avid reader of the Amish and their history and heritage.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Keith; 5 children, Stephen Jensen of Montrose, CO, Paula (Ron) Kinrade of Camanche, Tom (Marilyn) Jensen of San Antonio, TX, Michael (Sue) Jensen of Clinton, and Jane (Pete) Lamp of Charlotte, IA; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 grandchildren, Jamie Lamp and Michael C. Jensen; 2 sisters, Marjorie and Joyce, and 3 brothers, Russell, Wayne and Lowell. So very sorry for your loss! Phyllis was such a great lady – always had a smile on her face. We always had the best time visiting at our Northeast Retirees meetings.

So sorry to hear of her passing. Phyllis was the bus driver for all of my kids during their school years and she was wonderful. I never worried about my kids with her as their driver.
