Peggy J. “Peg” Schroeder, age 65 of Clinton, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. According to her wishes private family services will be held Monday at the Pape Funeral Home. Memorials in Peggy’s name may be made to the Clinton Humane Society.

Peggy was born in Sioux City, Iowa on July 7, 1956, to her loving parents William and Patricia (Ernst) Harveston. She graduated from Sioux City East High School. She was an Air Force brat, living in England and Texas as her family followed her father during his time in the service. Peg married the love of her life Ronald Schroeder on August 18, 1984 in Sioux City. She was the heart and soul of her family. Her beautiful laugh and sweet spirit touched everyone she met. She was affectionately known as “mom” by many of her children’s friends. Throughout her life Peggy had a deep love for animals. She was a member of the ASPCA and her compassion changed the lives of many homeless cats. Peggy was a great lover of books and music as well. Listening to her husband play guitar and sing would make her eyes light up with joy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Peg is survived by her husband Ron; 3 children, Marcy Banker of Clinton, Sarah (Joseph) Manning of Sioux City and Samuel Joseph Schroeder of Clinton; 3 grandchildren, Ty, Briana, and Layla; her sister, Laurie (Willie) Cruse of Clinton and her brother, Mark (Valerie) Harveston of Sioux City.
