Patsy J. Bark, age 86 of Clinton, passed away Friday, August 23, 2019 at her home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at the Lyons/Trinity Methodist Church. A memorial service will begin at 12:30. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Patsy was born in Clinton on July 11, 1933, the daughter of Joseph and Ethel (Conley) McClain. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1951. Patsy married Richard “Dick” Bark on May 23, 1953 in Clinton. Dick passed away on February 25, 2017. Patsy had been employed at Volckman Furniture, McLane Office Equipment, 3 Star Candy and as a home typist for Nielson Clearing House. She was a member of the Lyons/Trinity Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Rainbow Girls. She was a PTA member when her children were young. She enjoyed reading, traveling and following the Cubs.
Patsy is survived by 7children; Michael Bark of Louisiana, Kathleen (Frank) Van Metre of Azusa, CA Thomas (Rebecca) Bark of Marion, IA, Kenneth Bark of Clinton, Keith (Janet) Bark of Ankeny, Gerald (Julie) Bark of Kingsport, TN, and Diane (Herman) Gibbons of McDonald, OH; 17 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a brother, William (Ellen) McClain of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Peggy. Memorials may be made in Patsy’s name to the Lyons/Trinity United Methodist Church.
