Patrick M. Leonard age 75 of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at the Alverno. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Prince of Peace Parish. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the Mass time Friday at the church. In following Pat’s wishes cremation rites will follow with burial at a later date in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Pat was born in Clinton on November 6, 1947, the son of Raymond and June (Quinn) Leonard. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School and attended the US Auto Trade School in Kansas City. Pat worked at Walter Pontiac in Kansas City prior to being drafted. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Pat married Darlene Dow on March 17, 1969 in Clinton. Following his time in the Army, Pat returned to Clinton and was employed at Clinton Corn until 1980. He went to work at the DANISCO Thomson, IL plant from where he retired as a supervisor in 2009. He was a member of Prince of Peace Church, the VFW, and the AMVETS. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Pat is survived by 2 children, Christine (Jason) Schlotfeldt of Camanche and Michael (Stacy) Leonard of Clinton; 4 grandchildren, Jacob, Brody, MacKenzie, and Nolan; 2 great grandchildren, Jasper and Jayna; 4 sisters, Susie Wilden of Camanche, Betty Reed of Meridian, MS, Mary Mallinger of Clinton, and Jill (Brian) Lemke of Clinton; 6 brothers, Tim (Mary) Leonard of Lake Villa, IL, Dick Leonard of Sabula, Jay (Deb) Leonard of Clinton, Ed (Nettie) Leonard of Clinton, Larry Leonard of Clinton, and Joe (Anne) Leonard of Clinton and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter Emma Christine, and 2 brothers Billy and Bob.
