Bradley in Clinton, Iowa. Their marriage weathered the fiercest storms. Many have heard Clyde say the last 15 years have been the best of his life due to their deepening commitment to one another. All of us are blessed to have witnessed their love.
Patty was initially employed at Walgreens Drug Store in Clinton and later at Clinton Corn Processing as secretary. After her marriage, she helped establish and operate a Credit Union at NAAS Chase Field, Beeville, Texas where her husband, an officer in the U.S. Navy was stationed. After her husband left active duty and returned to Clinton, she worked in several positions – admitting clerk in the Emergency Unit, later secretary for the Psych Unit at Mercy Hospital. Patty also worked for Dr. Pisipati, a Psychiatrist, as a receptionist and billing clerk for 8 years. Patty was also, co-owner and operator of a craft store (Craft Barn) in Camanche, Iowa. She was the first secretary of the women’s Camanche Bowling Association, a position she held for several years. She was active in her church and Camanche School activities. She served as PTA Secretary for several years in Camanche.
Patty had a warm and wonderful personality that drew people to her and a gift for never forgetting a name or face. She loved life and always had a smile and joyful attitude, that was infectious and brightened everyone’s day. Truly, she never met a stranger. As her 4 kids were growing up, the front AND back door were always open and so many, besides her own kids, called her “Mom”.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, John Bernard and Virginia McDonnell, her brothers, James and Michael McDonnell.
Patty is survived by her husband of 65 years, Clyde; her children, Kevin Bradley, Karin Jurgersen (Ronald Dykstra), Keith Bradley (Karyl Bradley), and Kathi Mastaw (Mike Mastaw); seven grandchildren, Jenny, Joey, Cassandra, Chase, Jonathan, Tanner, and Tylan and four great-grandchildren, Alex, twins Levi and Violet, and Everett.
