Marvin S. Ross age 70 of Thomson, IL formerly of Clinton, IA passed away Tuesday Oct. 1, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday Oct. 26th from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at Lyons Tap Tavern, Clinton. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Marvin was born on April 12, 1954 in Chicago, IL the son of Robert and Thelma (Page) Ross. He married Mary Rankin on Sept. 1, 1973 in Chicago, IL. Marvin was a self-employed public adjuster for many years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, snowmobiling, scuba diving, camping, bicycling, bowling, and riding his Harley Davidson.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Mary Ross of Thomson, IL; his two daughters, Christie Ross of Rockford, IL and Melissa (Luke) Cavil of Poplar Grove, IL; his granddaughter, Samantha Ramirez; two brothers, Robert Ross of Clarksville, TN and David (Mary Jean) Ross of West Chicago, IL; two sisters, Yulanda (David) Wenglarz of Wilmington, IL and Victoria (Alex) Ledesma of Dickson, TN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
