Mark A. Karsten Sr. age 71 of Fulton, IL, passed away Sunday Aug. 27, 2023 at his daughter’s home in Fulton. Visitation will be held 3 – 5 PM Friday Sept. 1st at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. A Celebration of Life will be held at Lyons Train Depot, Clinton following the visitation. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. Mark was born on April 9, 1952 in Chicago, IL, the son of Clarence and Gladys (Rhymes) Karsten. He worked for the City of Elgin, IL in the sewer department. Mark enjoyed fishing, watching NFL football, and spending time with his family.

Mark is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Kwame Nash) Wilson of Fulton, IL; his son, Mark Karsten Jr. of Fulton, IL; 10 grandchildren, Maria, Anna, Nathaniel, Cole, Chelsea, Cherish, Rocky, Niesha, Portia, and Linda; 7 great grandchildren, Jude, Jack, Macaulay, Manuel, Meredith, Dominic, and Chalyssa; and 2 brothers, Roger (Judy) Karsten of Hamphire, IL and Charles “Chuck” Karsten of Elgin, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and sister.
