Marjorie Marie Marlowe, age 93, of Clinton, IA passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Mechanicsville Specialty Care Center. Private family graveside service will be held at Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com. Marjorie was born on August 30, 1930 in Clinton, IA, the daughter of Mathias and Martha (Jensen) Price. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1948. Marjorie married Richard Marlowe on Nov. 21, 1951 in Clinton. He died in 2009. She worked as a telephone operator at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for many years. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed traveling and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan, where she and Dick attended many home and away games. Marjorie loved spending time with family, especially the grandchildren’s activities and events. She always had a pet kitty to cuddle.
Marjorie is survived by her two daughters, Karen Krick of Clinton, IA and Marilee (Patrick) McConnell of Cedar Rapids, IA; four grandchildren, Thomas McConnell, Katie (Joel) Choate, Maggie (John) Pickett, and Andy Krick; eight great grandchildren, Keagan, Ryker, Kemper, and Falyn Choate, Jamie, Marlowe, and Matilda Pickett, and Matthew Krick; three sister-in-laws, Patricia Marlowe, Jane Marlowe, and MaryLou Asmus; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Dwight and Richard, and several brother and sister-in-laws.
