Marjorie Ann Pete of Clinton, IA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2023. Sadly, just shortly after a wonderful 90th birthday celebration. Marjorie was born November 23, 1933 to Donald and Marjorie (Parker) Tallman in Clinton. She was a 1951 graduate of Clinton High School. Marjorie married Stephen J Pete on October 20, 1951. They were blessed to have 63 years of marriage before Steve’s passing, September 28, 2014.
Marjorie was a secretary for 8 years for Union Grove School. She joined her husband as his secretary for their business, Pete Glass Company until they retired. Marjorie loved reading and swimming at water aerobics. She spent many memorable moments with her grandchildren spoiling them with love.
She is survived by her daughters, LuAnn (Bob) Douglas of Stockton, IL, Laura (Ron) Harding, Clinton, son Stephen (Gale) Pete Jr Clinton. Also, grandchildren, Troy (Heather) Harding, Lacy (Dave) VanZuiden, Stephanie Pete, Cindi (Cory) Knox, Noel Harding, Denise (Greg) Rollins, Bobby (Debi) Douglas, and Nicole (Sean) Kelley. Great grandchildren Jerzee and Zayden VanZuiden, Dennis and Brandon Harding, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her sisters Judy Hyde, Barbara (Bruce) Havens, and Beth Krogman. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother, Donald Tallman, sisters Nancy Liska Giles and Carol Struve, grandson Dennis J White Jr.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church 1105 LaMetta Wynn Drive Clinton, IA at 11:00 am. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 9:30 am up until the time of the service. Join the family for a luncheon following the service, interment will be at a later time.
