Marijo R. Krogman, age 86 of Clinton, Iowa passed away Monday, September 13, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. In following Marijo’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 9:00 AM and a celebration of Mass will follow at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Prince of Peace Parish. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Marijo was born in Clinton on June 29, 1935, the daughter of Clifford and Marian (McDermott) Shockey. She graduated from Lyons High School. She married Robert Krogman on November 25, 1952 at St. Irenaeus Church in Clinton. Marijo and Robert farmed the family farm side by side for the next 69 years. Marijo was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and the Loyal Order of the Moose. She was an active volunteer and member of the Altar and Rosary Society at the former St. Irenaeus Church. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. She enjoyed gardening, baking, photography (everyone knew to smile for Marijo) and going south to McAllen, Texas for the winter.
Marijo is survived by her husband, Robert; 4 children, Greg (Sherry) Krogman of Maquoketa, Marty (Sandy) Krogman of Clinton, Renelda (Brian) Baldus of Vinton, IA, and Barbara (Tim) Hookham of Elburn, IL; 14 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prince of Peace church. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com
