Margaret “Maggie” Mary Gaudet, 71 of Clinton, Iowa, passed away on June 13th, 2023, at the Alverno Nursing Home in Clinton, Iowa. In following Margaret’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
Margaret’s services will be held on Monday, July 10th at Pape Funeral Home. The visitation for family and friends will begin at 10 am, followed by the memorial service at 11 am. A small graveside service will directly follow at the Davenport Memorial Cemetery in Davenport, Iowa.
Margaret was born June 20, 1951, in Clinton, Iowa to Lyle and Eileen (Golden) Mallary; she was the youngest of seven children. Margaret married Robert Clausen on August 1, 1970. She later married Edward “Ed” Gaudet on June 19, 2004; Ed passed away in 2021. Prior to retiring, Maggie was a loving and devoted nurse at Bluff Terrace Nursing Home.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as well as her many bright and beautiful grandchildren. Maggie and Ed loved road trips on their motorcycles and enjoyed Sunday car rides in Ed’s classic cars. Maggie was known for her pecan pies and love of Reuben sandwiches. She enjoyed camping, boating, walking trails, and swimming. Her caring and compassionate nature as a nurse will live on through us all.
Margaret is survived by her children; Theresa (Ben) Clarke of Clinton, Iowa, Laura (Ben) Gooch of Crofton, Maryland, John (Emily) Clausen of LeClaire, Iowa, and Katie (Chris) Mox of Lakeville, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; two sisters and four brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Edward.
To help further the research for a cure for Alzheimer’s, Margaret made a generous donation to the National Disease Research Interchange ( ndriresource.org).

So sorry for your loss! I remember Maggie as one of the sweetest, kindest people. She was an old high school friend and I have great memories of your Mom.

Maggie was a loving and caring woman to the end. She was always wanting to be helpful in anyway she could. She loved to watch people but didn’t tolerate foolishness. She did have a good sense of humor though and experienced much joy in her life. She was an inspiration to me always.
