Lucille M. Kirst, age 80 of Clinton, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024 at The Alverno. In following Lucille’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded. There are no services being planned at this time. Burial will be at a later date inTampico, IL. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Lucille was born in Clinton County on March 25, 1944, the daughter of John and Frieda (Tiedje) Goodell. After her mother passed away when Lucille was 1, she was raised by Irv and Irene Goodell, her uncle and aunt. Lucille married Don Kirst on June 1, 1963 at St. Mary’s Church in Tampico. She was a Nurses Aid working at Winning Wheels in Prophetstown and at several nursing homes in the Sterling area. She enjoyed doing wood search puzzles.

Lucille is survived by 4 sons; Chris Kirst of Eldridge and his children, Olivia, Dawson, Abbilene, and Grant; Michael Kirst of Clinton, and his children, Maddy and Tori; Steven Kirst of Rushville, IL, and his son, Steven, Jr; and Matt (Sue) Kirst of Eldridge and their children, Grace, Gehrig, and Grady; 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Ruby Claussen of Eldridge; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Carrico of Viola, IL, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a great granddaughter, Emmie Lou; a sister, Janet Rathjen and a brother Jack Carrico. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
