Lori L. Joens age 64 of Preston, Iowa, formerly of Clinton, passed away Monday, November 13, 2023 at her home. In following Lori’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Monday, November 20, 2023 at the Pape Funeral Home. A service will begin at 3:00 PM. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Lori was born in Clinton on March 26, 1959, the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Faur) Holm. She graduated from Clinton High school in 1977. Lori married Bruce Joens on February 16, 1980 at Grace Episcopal Church in Clinton. Lori had been employed at Kopps Marker, A.C. Nielsen, McDonald’s, Doyle’s, and the Clinton Public Library. Lori loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandkids. She enjoyed collecting chickens, chocolate bars, and diet cherry Pepsi. She was everyone’s “Aunt Lori” and was fond of saying making people laugh was like throwing money at her.
Lori is survived by her husband Bruce; 2 children, Andrea (Adam) Reuter of Preston, and Adam Joens (Holly Goetz) of Preston; 5 grandchildren, Blake Alan, William Edward, Gemma Elaine, Nora Louise, and Killian Arthur; a sister, Patti Landorf of Aurora, IL, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Bob and Wally; 2 sisters, Bonnie and Cynthia, and 3 nieces, Kim, Tracy, and Tonya. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.

Lori and I met when Adam was 2 weeks old, worked together for 2 weeks, and been friends ever since. She was a great friend and I am going to miss our adventures, chats and laughs. She was such a wonderful person and I was blessed to have known her. Her laughter was priceless. I am going to miss her so much! To her family, she was loved by many, and I hope the memories you have bring some comfort at this difficult time. RIP my friend.
I’m so very sorry for your loss, Lori and I go way back to kindergarten and we had some great memories and she loved making me laugh!! I will miss seeing her out and about. Be at Peace dear friend
