LaVerne E. Rogis age 96 of Clinton, passed away Wednesday Feb. 2, 2022 at The Alverno, Clinton. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday Feb. 9th at Zion Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday 10:00 AM until the service hour at the church. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. LaVerne was born on Aug. 22, 1925 in Elk River Township, Iowa, the daughter of Benjamin and Ella (Mackeprang) Gregersen. She graduated from Sabula High School in 1942. She married Glen “Tom” Rogis on Jan. 15, 1944 in Clinton, IA, and shared 54 years before his death in1997. LaVerne was a homemaker and she and her husband farmed north of Clinton for many years raising their family before moving to town in 1971.
LaVerne was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, scrap booking, tending her flowers, and spending time with family and friends.
LaVerne is survived by her children, Gerald (Paula) Rogis of Clinton, IA, Glenda (Larry) Johnson of Sun City West, AZ, and David (Linda) Rogis of Fulton, IL; seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother.
