Joyce A. Meyermann age 87, formerly of Goose Lake, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, June 29th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:30 until the service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Joyce was born in Clinton on September 1, 1936, the daughter of William and Florine (Schwarz) Schultz. She graduated from Clinton High School. Joyce married Herbert (Herb) Meyermann on July 7, 1956 at Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton. Herb passed away on September 26, 2014. Joyce was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Preston. She and her husband farmed in the Goose Lake /Elvira area. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, and attending their school and sporting activities. She was a loyal Chicago Cub and Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Joyce is survived by 2 daughters; Lori (Dale) Michels of DeWitt and Pam (Rod) Anderson of Miles; 2 grandchildren, Craig (Jessi) Anderson of Camacnhe and Barb (Wyatt) Marburger of Miles; 5 great grandchildren, Luke, Ashlyn, and Alyza Anderson and Lillian and Everett Marburger with one on the way; a sister, Linda (Delbert) Gruhn of Clinton; a brother, Robert (Paula) Schultz of Clinton; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Crippen of Clinton and several nieces and nephews.
