John Patrick “Pat” Dermody, 75, formerly of Clinton, IA passed away Friday, May 9, 2025 at Jackson Ridge Health Care Center in Maquoketa, IA. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 16th at Prince of Peace Parish. Visitation will precede the service from 10-11AM. Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Pat was born on July 31, 1949 in Clinton, IA the son of John and Madonna (Migawa) Dermody. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1967 and received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1971. Pat worked as an Insurance Agent locally for many years, worked security at the Cordova Nuclear Plant, and then retired from the family business Dermody Water Conditioning. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Clinton Jaycees, and was an avid Notre Dame fan.
Pat is survived by his children, Kate Kuehl of Cedar Rapids, IA, Kelly (Brent) Fox of Long Beach, CA, John (Deanna) Dermody of Clive, IA, and James (Natalie) Dermody of Cypress, TX; his step-son, Jason (Brandy) Wynkoop; 15 grandchildren, Kyle, Allison, Emily, Grace, Hannah, Zachary, Elizabeth, Matthew, Samuel, Abigail, Alexander, Dylan, Maitlind, Whitney, and Kannon; one great-grandson, Kellen; his sister, Donna (Michael) Cristoforo of Rockford, IL; his sister-in-law, Julie Dermody of Owasso, OK; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James.
