Joan H. Luce age 84 of Clinton, IA, passed away Tuesday May 16, 2023 at The Alverno Healthcare Facility, Clinton. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM Friday May 19th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulton, IL. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Burial will be held at St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery in Clinton. Casket bearers will be her grandchildren and honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren. Joan was born on April 26, 1939 in Green Bay, WI, the daughter of Herbert and Arleen Clark (Klarkowski) Richert. She graduated from Our Lady of Angels Academy in Clinton in 1958. Joan married James Luce on Nov. 8, 1958 in Green Bay, WI, he died in 2015. She owned her own sewing business in her home for many years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharist minister, visiting those at their home, nursing home, and hospital. Joan enjoyed sewing, gardening, wine making, and was proud of her home and garden.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Troy (Jody) Brown of Rockford, IL; six grandchildren, Kyle, Carly, Jessica (Cody), Patrick, Hope, and Faith; seven great grandchildren, Emma, Caleb, Haiden, Harper, Raelynne, Hazel, and Asher; and her sister, Evangeline (Gene) Macsurak of Deming, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, daughter Helene 1959, son Clark 2009, and granddaughter Melissa 2020.
