Jeanne M. Swamberger, age 86, of Clinton, IA, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Mercy One Hospital. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace Parish. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the Pape Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery.
Jeanne was born in Clinton on January 25, 1939, the daughter of James Patrick and Mary Gertrude (Owens) Doherty. She graduated from Mt. St. Clare Academy in 1958. Jeanne married Edmund J. Swamberger on August 18, 1962, at St. Patrick’s Church. Jeanne was the parish secretary at St. Patrick’s Church and later at Prince of Peace for 43 years. Jeanne enjoyed playing cards, reading magazines, and visiting with friends. She enjoyed traveling, having visited all 50 states and Europe with her husband. More than anything, however, Jeanne adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved playing with them and attending their activities.

Jeanne is survived by her husband Ed; 4 children, Susan (Mark) Mickelson of Clinton, Barbara (Stephen) Cramer of Lake Mills, WI, Timothy (Leasa) Swamberger of Clinton, and Jennifer Neumann of Burlington, IA; 12 grandchildren, Jessica, Christopher, Eric, Kayla, Alyssa, Megan, Sean, Allison, Samantha, Matthew, Grace, and Leo; 10 great-grandchildren, Jackson, Brody, Payton, Macie, Cole, Keira, Henry, Mollie, Simon, Mackenzie, and another on the way; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Michael Neumann; and a sister, Joan Regenwether.
