Jean Ann Johnson age 88 of Camanche, IA passed away Saturday June 8, 2024 at Franciscan Village in Lemont, IL. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday June 15th at Church of the Visitation in Camanche, IA. Visitation will be held Saturday 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche.
Jean Ann was born on September 23, 1935 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Franklin and Lucille (Reif) Hilgendorf. She graduated from Our Lady of Angels Academy in Clinton, IA. Jean Ann married Richard Johnson on September 17, 1955 in Clinton, IA; he died in 2007. She had worked in various areas at Kmart. She enjoyed cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals and firing their managers. She also loved watching movies on Hallmark and visits from her family.
Jean Ann is survived by four sons; Mark (Debra) Johnson of Ankeny, IA, Michael (Jean) Johnson of Murfreesboro, TN, Tim (Suzi) Johnson of Downers Grove, IL, and Tom (Elizabeth) Johnson of Allen, TX, ten grandchildren; Rachel, Nickolas, Benjamin, Matthew, Stephanie, Nathaniel, Matt, Joe, Morgan and Marshall, five great-grandchildren; Arlette, Josephine, Eliza, Landon and Liam, two brothers; Doug and David Hilgendorf, and two sisters; Joyce Ayers and Judy Long. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; a sister, Mary Lou, and an infant brother.
