Janet C. Engelkens age 79 of Clinton, IA passed away Tuesday July 23, 2024 at her home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of friends and family will be held Saturday Aug. 3rd from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Pape Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Chippiannock Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Janet was born on Dec. 15, 1944 in Milan, IL the daughter of Elisha and Frances (Duncan) Jahn. She married John Engelkens on Jan. 1, 1962 in Silvis, IL; he died in 2015. She was a homemaker and worked at General Electric in Morrison, IL as an assembler. Janet was active with the family stock car racing team. She enjoyed dancing and music and had a huge love of animals.
Janet is survived by her two children, Kristi (Paul) Shaw of Clinton, IA and David (Terri) Engelkens of Morrison, IL; four grandchildren, Brian (Kirsten), Jason, Becky (Zachary), and John; a great grandson, Atticus; and a special friend, Ron Russell of Morrison, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
