Hazel W Foster, 95, of Camanche, passed away April 5th 2022 at the Alverno. According to her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Oakland Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Hazel was born August 12, 1926, the daughter of Arthur McNamara and Verna (Guignon) McNamara. She married Donald Foster August 9, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1993. She was a housewife and stay at home mom for many years and made being a wife, mother and grandma look so easy. In 1970 she began working at Petersen Harned Von Maur department store in Clinton where she was manager for many years. Reading was her passion but she also loved to roller skate, bowl, and line dance. She did volunteer work for many organizations throughout the years, and was an avid fan of the Clinton Lumberkings, sitting through many late night doubleheaders with her sister, Donna and friends. Not many could resist her twinkly eyes and sweet smile and she was best described by all as such a sweetheart.
Hazel is survived by her three children Connie (Curtis) Holloman, Gary Foster, and Ron Foster all of Clinton, two grandsons Michael Holloman and Tip (Paloma) Holloman, and one great granddaughter, Alette. She was preceded in death by her husband, granddaughter Amanda Holloman, one brother and three sisters. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
Connie and family. Mother’s are one of a kind and no matter how long you are privileged to have her in your life….The pain of loss is so real. Little things are truly big things when you get older. Your mom was lucky to have you for her daughter and the kids had the best Grandma. She had humor always and I know you will miss her terribly. Condolences to your brothers who I am sure they too were lucky to have a great mom. Please take comfort that she is reunited with your Dad and Amanda along with many others that she has missed. Love and prayers my friend
