
Gary R. Taplin, 52, of Bryant, passed away peacefully at his home on
Saturday, January 3, 2026, surrounded by those who loved him, after
courageously fighting a long battle with cancer. According to his
wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Gathering of family and
friends will be held at the Pape Funeral Home from 4 PM until the
celebration of life service hour at 6pm on Friday, January 9th. Online

Gary was born in Clinton, IA on July 10, 1973, the son of Gary E. and
Judith (Hughes) Taplin. He married Kimberley Snodgrass on April 27,
1996. Gary enjoyed working as a CNC operator for MacLean-Fogg. He
loved spending time with his wife, grandkids, duck hunting, fishing,
golfing, and gambling.
Gary is survived by his wife, Kimberley; children Destiney (Eric)
Wisely and Anthony (Krista) Taplin; grandchildren, Cameron, Roselee,
Liam, and Evie Wisely; his mother Judith Taplin, brother Thomas
(Dolly) Taplin; sister Shelly Paxton; and many special friends and
extended family. In lieu of flowers, please consider wind chimes,
memorial stones, a bench, or a monetary donation to purchase these
