Franklin D. McClintock age 87 of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 27, 2025 at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, January 26th at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery.
Frank was born in Clinton, Iowa on March 7, 1937, the son of Douglas and Agnes (Wessel) McClintock. He served with the U.S. Army. Prior to entering the Army Frank farmed the family farm. Following his time in the Army Frank worked at Allied Steel, later as an ironworker out of the Cedar Rapids Iron Workers Union, and he retired in 2004 after 20 years with the Corps of Engineers. Frank married Lois Ann Bassler in May of 1958. He later married Carol Bower Johnson on August 10, 2018 in Clinton. Frank enjoyed going to tractor pulls and he had a love of Minneapolis Moline Farm Machinery. He liked going for rides in the country, gardening, feeding the birds and squirrels, and Jack Russell Terriers, especially his dog, Scarlett.
Frank is survived by his wife Carol of Clinton; 3 daughters, Kelly McClintock of Denver, CO, Michelle McClintock of Savanna, and Tesha (Will) Fischer of DeWitt; 3 grandchildren, Katie Kaup, and Kylee and Dylan Fischer; a sister, Sharon Hitpas of Breese, IL and many nieces and nephews.
