Edward R. “Ed” Bursott, age 73 of Clinton, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 at his home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Friday at the Pape Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM.
Ed was born in Moline, IL on February 4, 1949, the son of Joseph and Marie (Buller) Bursott. He graduated from Rock Island High School. Ed had worked as an electrician with Local 145 in Rock Island for over 35 years. He was a member of the Church of the Open Door. Ed enjoyed bowling and as member of the Clinton Bowling Association had served on its Board of Directors and as Past President. He loved photography and collected antique cameras. He volunteered driving veterans out to Iowa City and had volunteered at the hospital. Ed was a fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Bulls.
Ed is survived by his son, Jeff Bursott of Clinton; 3 sisters, Linda Greenman, Patricia (Dennis) Smith and Joyce Dorbeck; a special friend, Linda Wenzel of Clinton and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joe.
