Dr. Lowe’s love of history was evident and it influenced me and many others to pursue that discipline as a career choice. But even more pronounced were his kindness and generosity of spirit; he was truly a model for treating people with respect and dignity. He will be deeply missed. The personal warmth and dedication Curt brought to teaching were outstanding characteristics that allowed him to be a “beloved prof.” during a decades-long career at Mt. Saint Clare College/Ashford University. And the high quality of his scholarship as a historian sealed the respect that colleagues and students alike had for him.
In so many ways, Dr. Lowe was “the spirit of the place.”
