Donald R. Schwartz age 96 of Clinton passed away Saturday Nov. 2, 2024 at The Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Friday Nov. 8th at Elvira Cemetery. Donald was born May 11, 1928 in Clinton County, IA the son of Fred and Mildred (Gusse) Schwartz. He was a veteran in the US Army. Donald married Roberta Petersen on Jan. 27, 1957 in Elvira; she died May 2, 2024. He was a farmer most of his life, a resort owner in Cass Lake, MN, and owner of the Northend Dairy Treats in Clinton. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Sterling, IL and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Donald is survived by his three children, Tracy (Eric) Neas of Morrison, IL, Cindy Carlsen of Rock Falls, IL, and Donald (Sherri Knowlton) Schwartz Jr. of Clinton, IA; 7 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Edna Mae and Dorothy. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Roberta, four brothers, four sisters, and son-in-law, Gary.
