Dolores E. Barrette, age 89 of Clinton, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022 at her home with her granddaughter Alicia at her side. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until the service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Dolores was born in British Hollow, Wisconsin, the daughter of Robert and Martha Ann (Gillilan) Luher. In grade school she was the only student in her class at a one room school house. She graduated from Platteville High School, Platteville, WI. Dolores married Frank Barrette on February 4, 1950 in Potosi, WI. They lived in Dubuque and Davenport before settling in Clinton. They had been married 40 years when Frank passed away in September of 1990. Dolores was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and the Northwestern Bell Pioneer Ladies. She was a homemaker, raising her 8 children. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards with her friends, gardening, cooking, going out to lunch, visiting the casino, and spending time with her great grand dog Colbie.

Dolores is survived by 3 children; Jerry (Kara) Barrette, John (Mary) Barrette, and Jamie (Clyde Graff) Dornbush all of Clinton; 10 grandchildren, including Wendy Buikema and Alicia Rogis who were very special to her; 17 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Suzanne Kress of Potosi, WI and Marilynn Luher of Dubuque, and many nieces and nephews, including Lois Stanford of Madison, WI who was raised as a sister to Dolores. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; a son, Steve; 4 daughters, Phyllis Chambers, Nancy Mariscal, Jill Pearson, and Joan Keown; a grandson; a great grandson; 3 brothers, John, Raymond, and Bobby and 5 sisters, Luella, Marie, Bessie, Arlene and Jeanette. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Clinton Humane Society.
