Dolores A. Diercks age 98 of Clinton passed away Friday Sept. 5, 2025 surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday Sept. 9th at Faith Lutheran Church in Andover. Visitation will be held Tuesday 10 AM until the service hour at Faith Lutheran Church. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Burial will be at Andover Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Michael Johnson, Chad Rahe, Jeff Hart, Josh Wall, Ben Daehler, Jared Kueter, and Keaton Tebbe. Memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church or Camp Courageous. Dolores was born August 26th, 1927 in rural Bryant Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Romey (Bratthauer) Cornilsen. She married Gilbert Diercks on Aug. 3, 1947 in Preston, Iowa. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and a true heart of the home. She spent her life as a farm wife and homemaker, building a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. Alongside her husband, Gilbert, she helped run the family farm for many decades, contributing in countless ways—from preparing meals to tending the garden, and making a warm and welcoming home.
Dolores was known for her sewing, her steady hands in the kitchen especially the grandkids favorites- chicken on the bone, pancakes, and homemade angel food cake and her unwavering love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a quiet strength, a nurturing spirit, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. She enjoyed going on Cattleman’s tours, playing cards, puzzles, and riding with her kids in the side-by-side on the farm.
Dolores in survived by her five children, Brenda Johnson of Thompson IL, Rick (Kathy Schoel) Diercks of Clinton, Carol Diercks of Clinton, Kevin (Patti) Diercks of Andover, Lisa (Tim) Till of Bellevue IA; seven grandchildren Michael (Rachel) Johnson, Kristen (Chad) Rahe, Jill (Jeff Hart) Diercks, Jennifer (Josh) Wall, Kelli (Ben) Daehler, Lindsey (Jared) Kueter, Lauren (Keaton Tebbe) Till; 13 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; her sister Selma Shilling; her sister in law Darlene Schroeder; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Michael. Her sisters Avalda Malmstrom, Lucille Buell, Lois Swanson, Marilyn Krutzfield, brothers, Howard Cornilsen, Lyle Cornilsen, and son-in-law, Richard Johnson, infant grandson, Brandon Till, grandson-in-law Collin Long.
