David L. Jones, age 77 of Clinton, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Eagle Point Nursing Home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Pape Funeral Home. Memorial service will follow on Friday 7:00 PM at the funeral home. David was born in Clinton on December 3, 1946, the son of Francis and Betty (Thompson) Jones. He graduated Clinton High School and received an A Degree from Scott Community College. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose. David was a genuine handyman. He worked as a security guard, a CNA at Eagle Point, a slot technician at the Wild Rose, and at Radio Shack as well as fixing computers. He was actively involved in ham radio.

David is survived by 3 daughters; Kelly Jones of Clinton, Tatem (David) Abney of Savanna, and Amanda (Richard) Haworth of Springfield, IL; a son, Jeremy Jones of Clinton; 6 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; 2 step-daughters; a step-son; a sister, Janet Jones of Camanche, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter – Michele, brother – Daniel, and sisters – Barb, LaRene, Judy. Memorials may be made to the family.
