So sorry for your loss. I’m very glad that I was able to visit with you both the last time I was in Clinton and to give Mr.Reed a bad time about teasing me in high school. My deepest sympathies for you and your family.
Heartfelt sympathy❤️
Dani, Mrs. Reed, and all extended Family Members:
I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Dan and Pat in the past, and found him to be an man of humor, guidance, history, and compassion. He certainly will be missed, and my family wants you to know of our heartful sympathy during these difficult times and future days. Our prayers are extended to you, with sincere sympathy, Nancy and Rick Jenkins.
My deepest sympathies to Mr. Reed’s family. Dan had such a wonderful influence in my life, both as his student and as a career role model. I first met him as my driver ed teacher in Camanche in 1980 and also had the good fortune to work with him again in 1987, as he was a supervisor of my UNI student teaching experience in the math department at Clinton High School. I always enjoyed our subsequent conversations during chance encounters in the years since and I’ll always consider him to be one of Clinton’s finest teachers ever. He was so terrific in the classroom and always made the most of every opportunity to have a positive influence in the lives of students.
My deepest sympathies to all of Dan’s family. So many memories of Mr.Reed ….for me as a student, a player, a new teacher and finally a collegue. I so admired his knowledge, his commitment to teaching and coaching and most importantly to his family. My deepest condolences.
My deepest sympathies to Pat and the children and the grandkids.l remember the good times we had as kids
Dan and I shared many classes together in high school and all four years of college since we had the same major. We also lived in the same dorm house at UNI. During that time we became close friends and shared many experiences together including double-dating on a few occasions. One scary time was when I wrapped one of my towels around his sliced-up bare back and drove him to the campus clinic after he fell backward through a plate glass window in our dorm rec room. There never seemed to be a dull moment with Dan. He was a great friend and a great guy. I am so sorry for your loss.
Pat and family. We were so saddened to hear of Dan’s passing. We have many fond memories of him at Clinton High football games.
Pat and Family, May your faith remain strong and bring you God’s comfort , peace , and strength as you begin the healing process. May happy memories keep you all laughing in the future!
Dan was a wonderful teacher and coach for our youngest son’s and so many Clinton school students. May this great, kind man Rest in Peace.
Pat and Family….I am so sorry for your loss. Dan was one of a kind. I asked him for some advice many years ago and he did not hesitate. I valued our friendship more than I can share here. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Cherish all those great memories.

Sorry for your loss he will be missed
My rock, my love, and confidant. We did everything together and will be dearly missed! Love you Dan! We know you are in a better place.
We had not lost a first cousin on the Reed side till Dan. I will always cherish the memories we made as kids spending time together in Mason City, Council Bluffs or even fishing at Clear Lake. My husband and I and our children lived in Atkins, Ia for 1.5 years before moving to Colorado. Dan & Pat lived nearby and we got together from time to time. We also attended some girls basketball games that Dan coached.
We are truly sorry for your loss. I know Dan will be missed by friends and family.
Dan was a friend & coaching colleague since I arrived in Camanche in 1979. One fond memory is traveling to state basketball tourney in Hulio (spelling ?? ), his nickname for his big car. Always enjoyed our chats whenever we ran into each other. Will miss him ! My sympathy to his family & RIP buddy !
