Dan was the kind of guy who never met a stranger. He loved to visit and tell his wonderful stories. He dearly loved his wife and his family. He was a very good friend to me and I wish I could have seen him more after our move to Fort Worth. I have great memories of Dan and will cherish them forever. Love and miss you so much! Prayers to the family for peace.
Mr. Dan, we love you and miss you. Gwen, John, Trent and Ralph you’re in our thoughts and prayers. We’re here. So glad our dear friend is reunited with his precious wife and daughter even though we miss him so much already. Don’t even know where to begin…. Such a kind, warm soul and friend. So many memories. I hope in the not too distant future we can sit and reminisce about these sweet times. There is not a location in Cypress that doesn’t remind me of you, Mr. Dan. Thank you for your friendship and sharing your heart of gold.
My deepest c0ndolences to Mr. Dan’s family. I met Mr. Dan way back when Petal owned Jitterbug in Fairfield. He was such a ray of sunshine and a wealth of information. I am so happy to have had the honor to call him friend. I know he spoke so highly of his family and always stressed his deep love for his beloved wife. My husband and I got the pleasure of taking him Christmas shopping several years when his legs would just not let him pedal his bike. He was always dressed to the nines! I will always think of Mr. Dan when I see someone out biking….what a legacy of friendship and kindness he leaves behind. I feel so blessed to have called him friend. I will miss seeing him. May God comfort you all during this difficult time. Go with God Mr. Dan!!!!!
I grew to know Dan as a very good friend at the little coffee shop I would visit every morning. He was a light to everyone in that coffee shop. I remember he always had questions for me about his iPhone and I loved sitting there early in the morning and chatting with him over our morning Java. I lived in Cypress, TX for awhile before I moved back to my hometown of Dallas, TX in 2016. We kept in touch but after awhile he seemed to be growing more ill. I regret that we never got to finish our last conversation. The miniature bicycle license plate keychain gift he gave me that has his name on it will forever be on my key ring. Love you always Mr. Dan.
Mr. Dan was always a light. I loved the opportunities I had to take him to the doctor and lunch at Cheddars. Man loved Cheddars!
Meeting him at Sunrise Cafe ended up being such a blessing. He touched so many lives- mine especially. He never gave up and pushed himself to be independent. He just loved people! I know he is rejoicing and celebrating and riding his bike in heaven with his wife and daughter.
I hope his memory lives on forever in Fairfield. It will in my heart. I wish his family peace and comfort.
He was such a good man.
Sincere sympathies to Dan’s family! He touched so many lives in and around Fairfield. Ours included!! Such fond memories of Dan! I too, loved the sport coat and Christmas ties he wore all of December. Our many lunches at La Madeleines were a very special time. We have so many pieces of Iowa State memorabilia around our home from Dan, even though he was a Hawkeye fan! We tried our hardest to convert him. I will think of him every time I pass Nyam Nyam, the Post Office place, and the donut shop, and also when I see anyone riding a bike or walking while bouncing a tennis ball! Thank you for the special memories and I’m so glad you are once again with your wife and Dawn! Love, from the Young Family
My sympathies to the family. I knew Dan for many years from casual conversations and as a client at the law firm. He was such a sweet man and had great stories. I was always impressed with his strength and endurance for bike riding.
Dan was a great man. I’ve know him since the old Shell station. 19 years ago when my youngest was born he went out and got a gift for her, I was touched. Such a generous man with a heart of gold. Rip Mr. Dan, fly high!!
Our condolences.
May Gods perpetual light shine upon him.
Dan, when i first moved in Fairfield, i met you at the schell station where we would talk and talk. So many memories of our conversations. You’re a wonderful man whom all will miss. God Bless You Mr. Dan
Mr. Dan,
I met you in Sunrise Cafe in Fairfield. You always dressed in a suit and your tie was the topic of discussion. You always were changing it for every holiday. You would sit in your usual spot everday, drink your coffee and chat with us about life. You loved cycling and we were in awe of your determination to keep it going even after so many obstacles. You would talk about your family and of how much you missed and loved your beloved wife. You always had a smile and a huge hug everytime I would see you. I had to move back to NJ but you always messaged me, kept in touch, and commented on my life events with your sarcastic funny wit. You always had the best jokes! I will miss your smile and advice the most. I find peace knowing that you are now reunited with your wife and your loved ones who have passed before you. Sending my deepest condolences to your family and friends.
Mr. Dan. Fairfield will not be the same without you. Seeing you at all the local businesses visiting, riding your bike, or just around the neighborhood, you always had a kind word and a smile.
Dan you will always be with us. Your memory carry’s on through the many stories you’ve shared. You were an inspiration to me through many struggles, a friend in good and bad times and a fixture in our community. I will always cherish the talks we’ve had over the years. Your a good soul Dan, loved and admired by many. While I’m sad to see you leave this place I am also happy knowing you will no longer feel the pain of this world. Go with God, be at peace and reunite with your love.
It’s not goodbye but rather see you later. Ride on!
My friend Dan! So grateful to have crossed this path. 15 years ago, when the barker cypress heb had a cafe, Dan could be spotted in his red Canadian kit riding Skinner and popping into that Cafe. Sharing a hug and a story continued from there. He was a gifter, a coffee mug, the Dan keychain, but his best present was his presence. He will be missed. To his family, yall really rock, you fueled him with comfort and joy.
This is a loss for us here in Fairfield, but he finally is reunited with his wife whom he loved dearly
Mr. Dan will definitely be missed at the barbershop! He would come and hang out and tell us his bike riding stories! From the Barbers at King’s Crown Grooming Station, we off our condolences to his family. Mr. Dan’s picture will remain on the wall, cause he’s still apart of this barbershop!

Mr Dan you were the best. You were such a part of our family. I will always remember the things that we would go to some of them crazy but they were always fun. My first Black Friday setting all night in front of Best Buy, going downtown and just walking through the tunnels, there are so many I can’t even mention them all but you were always there no matter what we decided to do. Our lunches, going to the doctors in Sugar Land and then going shopping and to lunch. I remember our Louisiana trip, we always had fun. You were family to all of us and we loved you very much. You will be missed
Mr. Dan,
If anyone ever had the pleasure of meeting you they would how kind and funny you could be. It was a pleasure to meet you. I looked forward to your visits.
Oh sweet Mr Dan! You were a fantastic neighbor and friend. So many times as a single mom I’d come home from work and you’d already put up my trash or recycling cans for me. You always had a smile and a story and rarely asked for anything. Love you always. Condolences to Trent, Gwen, and John and loyal puppy (can’t think of your name right now ?♀️). You will be missed Mr. Dan ♥️
Mr. Dan was a huge part of Fairfield. We will miss him dearly. My condolences to Gwen, John, and Trent.
Uncle Danny I will miss you more than you will ever know. Reconnecting with you was one of the greatest joys in my life. You told me great stories about you, my Dad (Edward Sear) and Uncle Butch and filled in so many questions I had about our family. I love you and hope you’re riding your heart out on a new bike. I’ll miss you. God welcome my Uncle Danny, he’s a great guy. Heaven look out the Sear boys are back together.
With deepest sympathy we mourn the loss of your Father. He was a good man and a good friend to me and my family and a blessing to our community . I will hold the memories we made close to my heart. Mr. Dan was loved by all and will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
Love,
Kim, Tony, Anthony & Kassidy O.
Mr. Dan was the absolute sweetest man. He would tell some AMAZING stories of his younger days and was so very proud of his family. My thoughts and prayers are with his daughter, son and family. Thank you for sharing Mr. Dan with us, we all loved him.
