After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Dale Robert Wilson went home to the loving arms of his Savior on Friday, September 9, 2022 at the age of 64. Dale was the devoted and cherished husband of Diane (nee Titer Kennedy) of 22 years; beloved father of Paula Fay Wilson of Camanche, IA, Robert Devon and Kate (Pellens) Wilson of Crestview, FL, Dayla Sue Wilson of Clinton, IA; and step-father of Elizabeth and Mattia (Titer) Beghelli of Minneapolis, MN. He was also the loving grandpa of 13 and great grandfather of two. Dale was the loving brother of Mark Edward Wilson of Clinton, IA and sister, Robin Lynn (Wilson) and Charlie Hirsh of Clinton, IA; and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Richard Devon Wilson and his mother Mildred Elizabeth (Simpson) Wilson.
Dale was born on March 5, 1958 at Great Lakes, IL; graduated from Clinton High School and also attended Clinton Community College. Dale was a laboratory technician at ADM and (Danisco) DuPont and later was the wastewater treatment operator at DuPont before having to retire in 2015.
Dale married Diane in 2000. Together they were “mom” and “dad” to nine cocker spaniels, six of which were rescue wigglebutts for whom they provided loving forever homes. He also enjoyed bowling and shooting, and got great enjoyment from caring for his property’s landscaping. Dale was a long-time, faithful member of Journey (Evangelical Free) Church and served as a Trustee, Usher, Stephen’s Minister, and VBS teacher.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Journey Church, 1310 13th Ave. North, Clinton, IA where friends may gather from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Rockstar Cocker Rescue or the Clinton Humane Society. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
