
Caryl Mildred Beck, 90, of Goose Lake Iowa, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 7, 2026. She was born July 12, 1935, the daughter of Mildred (Schmidt) and Carl Asmussen. She was one of 5 children. She passed peacefully, in home, surrounded by her family. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Caryl married Ambrose Beck, and raised 4 children, Carla (Bill) Hamilton, Tammy *deceased* (Steve) Baxter, Lenn (Cheryl) Beck, and Andy (Ellie) Beck. Living her early years in Spragueville, and later farming near Goose Lake, Iowa. Caryl loved the farm, gardening, sewing, reading, and especially her extended families she mentored throughout the years. Caryl worked various jobs throughout her life, including 30 years at the Clinton County Care Facility and was beloved by all. She was a devoted Christian and later attended Ascension Lutheran church in Goose Lake, Iowa.
She is survived by her children, a sister, Charleen (Babe) Johnson, and a brother, Bruce Asmussen, plus 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A brilliant mind, a kind soul, and the capacity to share love with anyone or anything that crossed her path. She will be greatly missed by many. She is proceeded in death by her parents, a sister, Lola, husband, Ambrose, daughter, Tammy and sister, Lois Sullivan. Caryl will live on in all the hearts. She touched many lives throughout her many years and will continue living in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
