Carol A. Kilgore – 73

Carol A. Kilgore age 73 of Camanche, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Mercy One Hospital. In following Carol’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Carol was born in Clinton on September 28, 1951, the daughter of Arnold “Colonel” and Lola (Craig) Schroeder. She was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Andover. She graduated from Northeast High School and received her beautician’s training in Dubuque. Carol married Ralph Kilgore on August 12, 1972. Ralph passed away on December 19, 2024. Carol had been manager of Kwik Star in Camanche. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and was known as a workaholic.
Carol is survived by her son Bradlee (Kori) Kilgore, Sr. of Camanche; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren with 2 on the way; a sister, Diane (Vern) Prunty of Texas; a brother, Richard (Carol) Schroeder of Clinton and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ralph; a grandson Austin, and a brother, Ron. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
