Carla M. Scott age 97 of Clinton passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025 at Fieldstone in DeWitt. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at St. John Lutheran Church, Clinton. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Friday, May 2nd at the Pape Funeral Home and from 9:30 AM until the service hour on Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Center Grove Cemetery, Bryant. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Wesley Hook, Jeremy Hook, Kenny Swanton, Jason Scott, Benjamin Scott, and Spencer Scott. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons Tyson Aye, Dion Aye, and Devin Aye.

Carla was born in Chicago, IL on July 22, 1927, the daughter of Rudolf and Elisabeth (Pappert) Wolff. She graduated from Lindblom High School. Carla married Dale L. Scott on June 7, 1947 in Chicago, IL. Carla and Dale farmed near Wyoming, IA, northeast of Maquoketa, and Lost Nation before moving to Clinton. They also lived at the Ten Mile (Bryant, IA) and Village Cooperative. Dale passed away on May 4, 2017. Carla was most recently a resident at the Quartet Senior Living in Bettendorf, IA. Carla had been employed with the Clinton Parks & Recreation, PFC Fulfillment, Clinton Public Library, Ascension Lutheran Church, Champion International Dairy Pak, and Physical Therapy Center. She loved music, played the piano and was a member of the church and community choirs. Carla also belonged to the Rebekah Lodge, and was a long-time officer and member of Plaza Bowling League. She crocheted afghans for her grandbabies and great grandbabies. Carla was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

Carla is survived by 5 children; Sharon (Larry) Hook of Thomson, IL, Wendy (Denny) Aye of Sonora, CA, David (Terry) Scott of Bettendorf, Penny (Dave) Swanton of Goose Lake, and Donald (Christine) Scott of Johnston, IA; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale, and her son Gregory (Chris) Scott of Carbondale, IL. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church (LCMS).
