
Anne E. Mulholland age 88 of Maquoketa, Iowa formerly of DeWitt, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Jackson Ridge Healthcare Center in Maquoketa. In following Anne’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton. A service will begin at 3:00 PM with a Celebration of Life and luncheon to follow at Rastrelli’s at 4:00. Burial will be at a later date at the Rock Island National Cemetery.
Anne was born in Stanford, TX on December 7, 1937, the daughter off Gordon and Mary (Larson) Stafford. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1956. Anne received her BA Degree in Elementary Education in 1972 and her Masters in Learning Disabilities in 1977 from Marycrest College in Davenport. She taught at Northeast High School in Goose Lake from 1976 to 1981. She then taught in Shiprock, New Mexico for 8 years before returning to this area and teaching in the Burlington, Iowa School District from 1990 to 1998.
Anne married Gregory Mulholland on September 10, 1960 at St. Irenaeus Church in Clinton. Gregory passed away on August 18, 2001. She later married Harold Nolen on September 10, 2001 in Stronghurst, IL. Harold passed away on January 14, 2012. Anne was a member of DeWitt United Methodist Church. Anne enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading, working out at the DeWitt Fitness Center, swimming at Great River, going out with her friends and following the Cubs and Hawkeyes. She also loved playing dominoes.
Anne is survived by 2 children; Patrick (Melissa) Mulholland of Burlington and Kathleen (Richard) Krogmann of DeWitt; 3 grandchildren, Ashley (Justin) Butt, Kyle (Katie) Krogmann, and Ryan (Megan) Krogmann; 8 great grandchildren, Colton, Ella, Emma, Amelia, Josie, Addison, Easton, and Mason, and sister, Kay Mulholland of Davenport, and a Greg’s twin brother, Gary Mulholland. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; twin granddaughters, Heidi and Heather, and a sister, Patricia. A memorial has been established.
