Shirley Gray, 91 of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at MercyOne Medical Center. According to her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at Clinton Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.

Shirley Anne Gray was born in Clinton on January 15, 1935, the daughter of Carl and Viola (Andresen) Johnson. She married Glen Gray on September 19, 1954. Shirley was on one of the first organized women’s softball teams in the area. She enjoyed woodworking/carving, archery, sewing, cooking, and was an avid bowler.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Glen; children Connie (Daniel) Westbrook of WI, Cherrie (Chuck) Reddeman of MI, and Larry (Sheryl) Gray of Clinton; two grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great grandchildren; siblings Lois Specht and Steve (Kathy) Johnson; and two sisters-in-law Janet and Joan Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers Donald Johnson and Charles “Bud” Johnson.
