LAMAR MONTGOMERY was born on May 18, 1964 to Theoudis and Bessie Mae Montgomery in Greenwood, MS. Lamar accepted Christ at an early age. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School. Lamar worked various jobs in Greenwood before moving to Iowa. On June 20, 2026, Lamar passed away in Clinton, Iowa due to congestive heart failure. Lamar was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, James and Richard Carter, and one sister, Sheila (Robert) Johnson. To cherish his memory, he leaves behind three children, Candace, Marcus, and Jacoby Montgomery, all of Memphis, TN; six grandchildren; two sisters, Bobbie (Calvin) Hollis of Colombia, MO, and Dorothy Montgomery of Hattiesburg, MS; two brothers, George (Pat) Carter of Laurel, MS, and Fredrick Montgomery of Jackson, MS; five aunts, one uncle, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
