Janet C. Bahnsen, age 82 of Clinton, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022 at her home. Private family graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 25th at the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Janet was born in Clinton on January 7, 1940, the daughter of Lloyd and Edith (Gorsuch) McDonald. She attended Clinton Schools. Janet married Paul “Hawk” Bahnsen on August 12, 1961 in Clinton. Hawk passed away on December 22, 1995. Janet was a homemaker. She and Hawk enjoyed dancing and were members of the former Odeon Club. Janet enjoyed spending time with her family, working in the yard, gardening, and going to the casino.

Janet is survived by 3 children; Shawn (Terry) Burden of Clinton, Kevin (Heather) Bahnsen of Clinton, and Kipp Bahnsen of Davenport; 6 grandchildren, Shane Burden, Chad Burden, Dana Drury, Brooke Bahnsen, Kristian Bahnsen, and Kyle Bahnsen and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, Darlene Dierks, Marilyn Thomsen, and Joan Hagge and a brother, Sonny McDonald. Memorials in Janet’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
