Nancy B. Smith age 83 of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Monday April 4, 2022 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa surrounded by her loved ones. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday April 8th at the Pape Funeral Home. A gathering of friends and family will be held Friday 10 AM until the service at Pape Funeral Home. Nancy was born on June 18, 1938 in Peoria, IL, the daughter of Roland and Hollis (Render) Cantrall. She graduated from Peoria High School with class of 1956. She married Bruce Smith on May 19, 1962 in Peoria, IL; he died in 2012. Nancy worked at Nielsen Clearing House for many years. She and her husband owned and operated their family business on Lake Carlton at Rockwood State Park for over 10 years.
Nancy was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Clinton and an active member of the Clinton Community for over 60 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going for walks, bike rides, gardening, and traveling. Nancy will be sadly missed by all who loved her.
Nancy is survived by her three children, Stan (LuAnne) Smith of Camanche, IA, Jodi (Matt) Holtz of Indianapolis, IN, and Lori (Chad) Collingwood of LeClaire, IA; 8 grandchildren, Kallie, Nathan, Molly, Rachel, Audriana, Alana, Isabella, and Bo; 7 great grandchildren; her special friend, Leonard Koch of Clinton, IA; her sister, Barbara Martin of Peoria, IL; and her brother, Tom Cantrall of Peoria, IL; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bruce, and several aunts & uncles.

NANCY & I HAVE BEEN FRIENDS SINSE HIGH-SCHOOL, AND KEPT IN TOUCH WITH EACH OTHER & GOT TO SEE VEACH OTHER A FEW TIMES OVER THE YEARS. I MOVED TO ARKANSAS , WHICH MADE IT HARD TO GET TOGATHER, BUT WE DID TALK ON THE PHONE.MAY THE LORD BE NEAR YOU & FAMLEY AT THIS TIME OF SADNESS. SHE WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART….WE HAD SOME GOOD TIMES TOGATHER WHEN WE WERE YOUNG. GOD BL.ESS
