Nancy Gail Thurston, age 80 of Clinton, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 8th. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 13th at 1 PM at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 11 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Nancy was born in Iowa City, Iowa on August 31st, 1941, the daughter of William and Evelyn (Kurtz) McDonald. She married Ray Thurston on July 19, 1980 in Seaton, IL. Ray passed away in 2021. Nancy worked several years as a CNA at Wyndcrest nursing home and later spent her years as a cook at Hi-Way Tap and café. Nancy enjoyed camping, crocheting, playing Nintendo, and spending time with all of her children and grandchildren and trips to Oregon to visit her sister and brother-in-law.
Nancy is survived by her 4 daughters, Barb(Jerry)Edfors of Clinton, Lorri Cordua (Chris Rush), of Olglesby, IL, Nonie (Alan) Schaver of Clinton, and Brenda (Jason) Greve of Clinton; 3 sons William (Jane) Nylin of Dalmar, twins, Keith (Carol) Nylin of Clinton and Kenny (LeAnn) Nylin of Gladstone,IL; 52 total grandchildren ,great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren . Nancy is survived by one sister Sharon (Lary) Hagen of Camanche, IA. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Ray, parents and 2 sisters.
