Mildred E. Baker, age 82 of Clinton, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at The Ivy in Davenport. According to her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12 noon until 1 PM on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Pape Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 1 PM. Mildred was born in Winfield, LA on July 1, 1939, the daughter of Clarence and Sarah (Brown) Russell. She married Rudolph “Kenneth” Baker on November 22, 1955 in Arkansas. Mildred worked as a parts assembler at GE, where she was a member of Gym Club, retiring in 1994. She enjoyed bowling, gambling at the casino, traveling, sewing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mildred is survived by her husband Rudolph; her children, Esther Hansen of Davenport and Kenneth (Cynthia) Baker of Rosemont, MN; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters Pauline (David) Herch of Clinton and Judy Sanders of St. Louis, MO; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson Kenny Hansen; four brothers; three sisters; a son-in-law Mark Hansen; and two nephews, Mike and Gary Herch.
We were so sorry to hear of Earlene’s passing. We have so many found memories of camping with Rudy and Earlene growing up. I will cherish those memories forever and always. Our condolences to the entire family.
