Great memories taking Drivers Ed with Mr. Tietjens in the class room. Best memory ever was the time Mr. Tietjens gave me a ride home in his very cool rearwheel drive jalopy truck from Alleman on a very snowy day. He showed me how to drive sideways down 27th Avenue Moline. As the rear of the truck was sliding one way, he turned the wheel the other way and we drove sideways down the whole street. A little bit freaky but fun!! Thanks Mr. Tietjens for being such a sweetheart of a teacher.
Dear Barb, I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. Praying for comfort for you, your family and friends. I always enjoyed spending time with you all when we were in school and during our class reunions.
Love,
Ruth
Very knowledgeable teacher in the classroom and behind the wheel in drivers education. He had a great sense of humor and sometimes you never knew if he was telling the truth or pulling your leg, so it was open game to mess with him back. Kept you on your toes and was good at getting through to different individuals as a teacher. One of the best. God bless Mr. Tietjens.
Barb and Family – I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Jack. May God comfort you in your sorrow. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
Rest In Peace
I have fond memories of my behind the wheel time with Mr. Tiejtens.
He was knowledgeable and fun. It was in the summer, so we had time to go on the Interstate. He taught me a lot; Great man. One of my favorite teachers at Alleman.
Sincere sympathy to his family.
Barb and family:
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
I have great memories of those years in Teeds Grove .
Barb and girls–
I am so sorry for your loss of Jack — what a great guy!
When I get positive comments about my driving or parking, I give full credit to Mr Tietjens for those skills he taught me while a student at Alleman HighSchool. I’d never been behind the wheel before but he knew I was in home ec, so he told me to pretend the gas pedal was the pedal of my sewing machine……RIP & thanks for the memories ??
