Gennett L. Nelson age 98 of Clinton, passed away Tuesday April 20, 2021 at her home. Private family graveside service will be held Monday at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
Gennett was born on Oct. 27, 1922 in Clinton, the daughter of David and Lois (Carlsen) Palmer. She graduated from Lyons High School. She married Robert Nelson in Clinton; he died in 1997. She enjoyed her dogs, crocheting, reading books, spending time with her grandchildren.
Gennett is survived by her daughter, Lois (Scott Wessels) Spalding of Clinton; three grandchildren, John Spalding, Dawn Horst, and Stacy Wilson; four great grandchildren, Christina, Brent, Trevor, and Courtney; her sister, Elizabeth Newsome of Clinton; and her brother, Louis (Laura) Palmer of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Robert, her son-Robert, two sisters, and three brothers.
